Now that we all have 25Mb of free Web space to play with, it’s be a shame not to use it! Stevie Kennedy starts with the basics

The number of weird, wonderful, and often whacky Web sites published by Internet users, businesses and organisations of every kind is matched only by the number of free Web sites that are never used. Whether from a lack of interest, time, or technical knowledge, thousands of people miss out on the opportunity to join in the fun - or start to reap the business benefits - by simply ignoring the Web space that comes with every EasyOneIP connection.

This is the first in a series of articles that will start with the basics and move on to more advanced topics in future issues, and to begin with we’ll try to avoid HTML altogether. This might sound a little odd, but it’s perfectly possible to become your own Webmaster without bothering to learn any of the intricacies of Web programming. We’ll start by looking at some of the excellent HTML editors that will more or less create pages for you, and examine the process of uploading those pages to your U-NET Web space.

If you saw the first issue of EasyLifeIP, you’ll have seen the reviews of Microsoft’s FrontPage 98 and Allaire’s HomeSite 3.0. These two programs are just about as good as you’ll get in terms of HTML editing without any HTML knowledge, and we’ll go over the information for the benefit of anyone who missed out on issue 1.

One final point, if you want to get really serious about web publishing you can upgrade to EasyTwoIP for domains and lots of other more advanced options.
